How validly does our mental reflection of reality reflect actual reality? Kant differentiates between the world as it's experienced, phenomena, and what must stand behind the experience, noumena. Kant posits that we can never penetrate through the phenomena to the noumenal level. So there is a limit of what we can know and the validity of the knowledge we claim.
